Role Overview
We are seeking an ambitious AI Scientist to take the lead in developing and deploying a state-of-the-art generative model for inorganic materials.
This is a high-impact role where your work will directly contribute to our core materials design pipeline, enabling the accelerated design of in-demand materials. You will have the unique opportunity to see the models you develop move from concept to real-world industrial application.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deploy advanced generative models, focusing on state-of-the-art techniques such as autoregressive, diffusion- and flow-based ML models.
Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of materials scientists, computer scientists, and scientific software developers.
Solve complex, real-world problems in materials design, drastically speeding up the discovery process.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate proven capability in generative AI and a passion for scientific applications.
Generative Modeling Expertise: A demonstrated experience in generative modeling within academic or industrial settings, particularly with advanced methods like autoregressive, diffusion-, or flow-based models.
Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in Computer Science, Python and deep learning frameworks.
Scientific Application: Experience applying generative models to scientific domains, preferably in materials science.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information clearly and concisely to diverse teams.
Drive & Detail: A strong self-starter mentality with strong attention to detail and eager to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and technical setting.
Preferred Skills:
These qualifications are a strong plus, demonstrating your readiness for the role:
Advanced Degree: Ph.D. in Computer Science, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.
Publication Record: A strong publication record showcasing the design and implementation of novel generative models.
Computational Materials Science: Experience with computational materials science methods, such as DFT (Density Functional Theory) and MD (Molecular Dynamics).
Domain Familiarity: Familiarity with common experimental techniques for materials synthesis and characterization.
