Role Overview


We’re looking for a Growth & Strategy Developer where you will work closely with our leadership team to shape and implement strategies that enhance our competitive edge and drive long-term value. You’ll combine analytical rigor, industry insights, and hands-on collaboration to tackle high-priority initiatives and guide us through sustainable growth.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about driving meaningful change, leveraging business insights, and influencing key decision-making processes in a company in its pursuit to become a high-value growth company trying to accelerate the green transition.


Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the management team to shape and prioritize strategic initiatives that support PhaseTree's high-growth ambitions.

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscapes to surface and act on growth opportunities.

  • Translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations spanning business model refinement, process improvements, and resource allocation.

  • Facilitate workshops, strategy sessions, and cross-functional alignment activities that drive organizational clarity and momentum.

  • Build and maintain robust financial models, forecasts, and risk assessments to underpin key business decisions.

  • Take ownership of strategic initiatives end-to-end - from insight generation through to execution and measurable impact.

Qualifications


Required Skills:

  • Scientific fluency: Comfortable navigating technical conversations around simulations, materials discovery, and industrial R&D. A PhD is not required, but credibility with technical audiences is essential.

  • Proactive drive: A self-starter mentality with hunger for growth and comfort operating in the ambiguity of a fast-moving startup environment.

  • Exceptional communicator: Strong storytelling ability with the capacity to simplify complex concepts for both technical and executive audiences.

  • Commercial curiosity: A genuine interest in understanding customer needs, market dynamics, and how to translate technical value into business impact.


Preferred Skills:

  • Market mapping experience: Hands-on experience conducting competitive analysis, customer segmentation, or industry landscaping - ideally within deep-tech, materials, or industrial sectors.

  • Industry network: Existing connections within advanced materials industries, particularly alloys and energy sectors.

  • Business modeling: Familiarity with building or stress-testing business models, pricing strategies, or go-to-market frameworks.

  • Deep-tech startup background: Previous experience as a founding or early team member at a venture-backed deep-tech company.

  • Technical background: An educational or professional background in engineering, physics, or chemistry is a strong plus, though it does not substitute for commercial acumen.

  • Tooling proficiency: Experience with CRM platforms, market intelligence tools, or data analysis software to support research and outreach efforts.

  • Versatile skillset: Exposure to more than one function- marketing, product, or strategy- and a willingness to get hands dirty across disciplines.
